Experience M. Scott Hursh has been a practicing accountant since 1979 and a principal of Stambaugh Ness since 1987. He is the managing Partner of the firm’s Not-For-Profit and Government Accounting and Auditing Practice and has more than twenty years of experience working with Not-For-Profit and Government entities. As such, he is responsible for overseeing this part of our practice, including the implementation of new accounting and auditing standards, assuring compliance with our internal processes and procedures and championing our audit efficiency and effectiveness efforts. In addition to these responsibilities, he works closely with his clients, using a focused, “hands-on” approach to help them achieve success. Scott has also performed numerous consulting assignments, including the selection of accounting software, structuring financing arrangements, and evaluating accounting systems. He has completed numerous reviews of other accounting firms under the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Peer Review Program, and has been certified as an Incisive Advisor. Education & Professional Development Scott received his BS degree in Accounting from West Chester University. He is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants. Community Involvement Currently, Scott’s community activities include serving on the board of the Christian Business Men’s Committee of York. He has also served in various capacities in other chartable and business organizations and as a volunteer Junior High and elementary wrestling coach.
