Lew Elicker began working as a staff accountant for Seitz, Harmon
& Stambaugh, one of the Stambaugh Ness predecessor firms in 1962. In 1966 he became a partner in the firm, and over the years he has held the positions of tax partner, managing partner and president. Currently, he serves the firm in the specialty areas of income taxes, estates and trusts, retirement planning and generation transition planning. He also provides support to the firm's other professionals in the areas of tax research and representation before taxing authorities.
A graduate of Central Dauphin High School in Harrisburg, Lew attended Dickinson College, and in 1965 passed the Uniform CPA Exam. Since then he has completed career specific course work at Elizabethtown College, the University of Pennsylvania, Temple University and York College.
In the community, Lew has served on the Boards of the Susan P. Byrnes Health Education Center, the Rotary Club of York, the United Way of York County, the York Adams Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, and the York County Chamber of Commerce.
Professionally, Lew has served on the governing councils of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs (PICPA). He is Past-President of the PICPA, and has chaired its committees on Legislation and Federal Taxes. From 1985 through 1993, he served the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a member of the State Board of Accountancy, including a term as Chairman of the Board.
Articles on "Multidisciplinary Practice" authored by Lew have appeared in the Pennsylvania CPA Journal and the Pennsylvania Lawyer magazine.
